Program Overview

The Domestic Violence Program manages state and federal funds to aid Florida’s certified domestic violence centers, which provide essential services. In partnership with the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the program certifies and oversees funding to enhance response and support systems for victims, working with various criminal justice and community organizations.

Domestic Violence Services

Florida’s 42 certified centers offer 24/7 crisis intervention, emergency shelter, safety planning, counseling, and other services at no cost. Additional support includes legal advocacy, life skills training, and community education.

Funding for Domestic Violence Services

In collaboration with the coalition, the Domestic Violence Program allocates statewide funding for prevention and support activities. Florida’s budget for domestic violence initiatives totals $39 million.
